01About Gmarket

Founded in 2000, Gmarket (지마켓) ranks among the largest e-commerce platforms in South Korea. It works as an open marketplace: a great many sellers, each with a storefront called a mini shop, list their products at fixed prices. Most of the range is new retail merchandise, but there are also overseas direct-purchase listings (haeoe jikgu), imported for Korean customers, and some second-hand goods.

For collectors outside Korea, the interest lies in products from the Korean market, from K-pop albums and merchandise to toys and video games. Listings are written in Korean and prices are in South Korean won. Many sellers deliver only within the country, so international shipping has to be confirmed listing by listing, and buyers abroad should also allow for import duties at home.
