Facebook Marketplace Iceland

Iceland is on Facebook's official list of Marketplace countries, and most of its listings come from the capital area, where much of the population lives. BuyHub searches Iceland from Reykjavík; sort by distance to see what is nearest, or by newest to catch listings as they appear. If few items near the capital match your search, Facebook may also show listings from further away, so sorting by distance keeps the closest ones on top.

Prices are in Icelandic krónur (ISK), a currency few visitors can convert in their head, so BuyHub shows each one in your currency as well. Titles written in Icelandic come back translated into English, which helps when the word you need is sófi or hjól.

BuyHub searches Marketplace Iceland through your own connection, so you need its free extension for Chrome or Firefox, or the BuyHub app. Filter by price, condition, category or date listed, then save the search as a radar. BuyHub keeps checking even with your phone and computer switched off and notifies you when something matches.

Buying happens with the seller. Facebook only offers shipping and purchase protection in the United States, so in Iceland you message through Messenger and arrange pickup or delivery yourselves. Outside the capital area, ask about delivery before agreeing.

Bland.is, online since 2000, describes itself as Iceland's largest online marketplace and also hosts a busy discussion forum. It is the other place Icelanders look for second-hand goods. BuyHub does not search it, so if you are hunting for something specific, check it alongside Marketplace.
