Facebook Marketplace UAE

Yes. The United Arab Emirates is on Facebook's official list of Marketplace countries, and it works on facebook.com and in the Facebook app, with prices in dirhams (AED). What it lacks there is the shipping and purchase protection Facebook offers in the United States: in the emirates, buyer and seller settle the price, the payment and the handover between themselves, usually over Messenger, and most deals end with a meetup or a collection.

That makes location decisive. A sofa listed in Al Ain is a long drive from Dubai, so it pays to search city by city instead of across the whole country.

BuyHub offers six UAE locations: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Al Ain and Fujairah. Pick one, type what you want and narrow it down by price, condition, category or date listed; sort by newest, price or distance. Titles written in Arabic come back translated into English.

To search Facebook from BuyHub you need the free BuyHub extension for Chrome or Firefox, or the BuyHub app, because the search goes through your own connection. Save it as a radar and BuyHub keeps checking even with your phone and computer switched off, then notifies you when a new listing matches.

Marketplace is not the only UAE marketplace. Dubizzle, which belongs to the same group as the property portal Bayut, is a UAE classifieds site, and OpenSooq, an Arabic classifieds network, has a UAE edition. The same item can appear on more than one of them, at different prices. In BuyHub you can add Dubizzle and OpenSooq to the same search as Marketplace and read everything in one list.
